Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 1, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Aurevix (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our AI-powered resume generation platform, including our website, applications, and related services (the “Service”). We are committed to transparency and to handling your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada), and applicable United States and other laws where we operate.

By creating an account, uploading content, or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information in connection with the Service.

2.1 Account Information

When you register or manage your account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Password (stored in hashed form; we do not store plain-text passwords)
  • Profile or account preferences you choose to provide

2.2 Resume and Career Data

  • Information you enter: Employment history, education, skills, achievements, contact details, and any other information you voluntarily provide for resume building.
  • Uploaded resume files: If you upload an existing resume (e.g., PDF or DOCX), we store the file and may process it to extract structured data (see Section 5). Uploaded resumes are retained until you delete them or close your account, unless we are required to retain copies for legal or operational reasons.

2.3 Technical and Usage Data

We automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as:

  • Device and browser type, operating system
  • IP address and general geographic region
  • Log data (e.g., access times, pages or features used, and similar usage data)
  • Cookies and similar technologies where we use them to operate and secure the Service

2.4 Payment-Related Data

When you subscribe or make a payment, we do not store your full card number. Our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes payment details. We may receive and store limited payment-related information (e.g., last four digits of a card, billing region, or transaction identifiers) as needed for billing, support, and fraud prevention.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you: When you create an account, fill in profile or resume fields, upload a resume, contact support, or otherwise interact with the Service.
  • Automatically: When you use our website or applications, we collect technical and usage data as described above.
  • Through service providers: Our infrastructure and third-party providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing) may collect or process data on our behalf in accordance with our instructions and this policy.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the resume generation service: To create, tailor, and deliver AI-generated resumes and related content based on your inputs and preferences.
  • Extract structured data from uploaded resumes: When you upload a resume, we may send it to our AI provider (OpenAI) on a one-time basis to extract structured fields (e.g., experience, education, skills). See Section 5 for details.
  • Operate and improve the Service: To run our systems, fix errors, improve performance, and develop new features.
  • Support you: To respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support.
  • Security and fraud prevention: To protect accounts, detect and prevent abuse or fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance: To comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and protect our and others’ rights.

We do not use your personal data to train AI models. See Section 5 for our AI processing disclosure.

5. AI Processing Disclosure

Important: Our Service uses artificial intelligence (via OpenAI’s API) to help build and optimize your resume.

  • One-time processing of uploaded resumes: If you upload an existing resume (e.g., PDF or DOCX), that file may be transmitted to OpenAI on a one-time basis so we can extract structured data (such as job titles, dates, skills, and education). After extraction, we store the structured data in our systems. We do not repeatedly send your raw resume file to OpenAI for ongoing resume generation.
  • Resume generation: After we have your structured data, resume generation uses that internal data and AI to produce tailored resumes. We do not use your personal information to train or improve OpenAI’s (or any other third party’s) models.
  • Your choice: You may choose to enter your information manually instead of uploading a resume if you prefer that your document not be sent for extraction.

6. Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal data.

  • OpenAI: We use OpenAI’s API for the limited purposes described in Section 5 (e.g., one-time extraction from uploaded resumes and generation from structured data). OpenAI processes data in accordance with its privacy policy and our contract. We do not permit use of your data to train OpenAI models.
  • Payment processors: We use Stripe (or other designated payment providers) to process payments. They collect and process payment information in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.
  • Cloud and infrastructure providers: We use third-party cloud and hosting providers to store and process data. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate data protection terms.
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of us, our users, or the public.

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to protect that data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. International Data Transfers

We operate in and serve users in India, Canada, and the United States. Your information may be stored and processed in any of these jurisdictions, or in other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your country of residence.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to India, Canada, the United States, and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) for such transfers.

8. Data Retention

  • Resume and account data: We retain your resume data, uploaded files, and account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete specific content or your entire account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. After deletion, we remove or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate operational purposes (e.g., dispute resolution, backups, or legal hold).
  • Legal retention: We may retain certain information where required by law or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information. You can update much of your information directly in your account settings.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions. You can also delete your account and associated data through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Withdrawal of consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your data, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Data portability: Where required by applicable law, you may request a portable copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection or restriction: In some jurisdictions, you may have the right to object to certain processing or to request restriction of processing.

To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about our processing, please contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. If you are in India, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

10. Security Measures

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption in transit: Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Secure storage: Resume files and personal data are stored in secure cloud environments with access controls and encryption where appropriate.
  • Access controls: Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel who need it to operate the Service, support you, or comply with the law.
  • Passwords: Account passwords are hashed using industry-standard methods; we do not store plain-text passwords.
  • Monitoring and incident response: We monitor for security events and have procedures to respond to incidents and to notify you and regulators where required by law.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and to keep your account credentials confidential.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we may also notify you by email or through a notice in the Service, where required by law.

Your continued use of the Service after the updated policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and close your account.

13. Contact Information

For privacy-related requests, questions about this policy, or to exercise your rights, contact us via contact form.

We will respond to your request within the timeframes required by applicable law.

By using Aurevix, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
